You can reach us about privacy at hello@weaselpit.com.
What we collect
When you browse. The site sets no cookies of its own. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without building a profile of you. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse and overload.
When you use the contact form. We collect what you type: your name, email address, topic, subject and message, plus a company name or link if you choose to add them. We also record the page and language you wrote from. To keep bots out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and may process your IP address. Your IP address is also used briefly to limit how many messages can be sent in a short time.
When you press play. YouTube videos and the Steam widget only load after you click them. Until then, nothing is sent to YouTube or Steam. Once you click, their own privacy policies apply. YouTube videos are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To answer your message. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the site and the form secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To understand how many people visit, in aggregate. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are delivered to our team inbox. A backup copy is stored on Cloudflare and deleted automatically after 90 days. Messages in our inbox are kept only as long as the conversation needs them.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, security, Turnstile, analytics, email routing)
- Google LLC (Gmail), which hosts the team inbox our addresses forward to
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your data protection authority. To use any of these rights, write to us at the address above.
